All Apologies To The Pope.....

(handed by Viera)

It's hard to believe but according to an Italian newspaper (Vita) Sinead made her apologies to Pope John Paul II by saying something like this: "Holy Father, forgive me. ...it was very stupid."

Mars-L; I am looking for someone who has this article and can tell me what exactly was said by Sinead, to me it's hard to believe she really said it even though it's mentioned in this paper, that means if she regrets having done that as being a statement. Please mail me and tell me it's just some gossip..... To me personally it would change my believes in Sinead a lot.

SINEAD O'CONNOR TO COMPOSE AND SING ORIGINAL MUSIC FOR `REMEMBRANCE'

Sean Penn and `Clyde is Hungry Films' in Association with Helicon Theatre Company Present `Remembrance,' Two-Act Play by Irish Playwright Graham Reid

-- Premiering September 25 at Odyssey Theatre --

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Grammy Award-winning Irish singer and songwriter Siniad O'Connor will compose and perform original music for "Remembrance," a two-act dramatic play by celebrated Irish playwright Graham Reid, premiering September 25th at the Odyssey Theatre. Ms. O'Connor's original composition will be pre-recorded for the play. Co-written with Joseph Vittarelli, who did the music for Sean Penn's new film "She's So Lovely," the music will be an example of "sean-nos," the ancient Irish music which features a cappella singing in Gaelic and English.

"Remembrance" tells the story of two families in Northern Ireland, one Catholic, one Protestant, struggling to recover from the death of their respective sons. Each is a victim of the relentless and all-consuming violence that has plagued that ravaged country for decades. Mr. Reid has textured the play with the passions of love, hate, loyalty and fear, and, of course, the humor that makes life bearable and survivable.

Leo Penn and Eileen Ryan, veteran state, television and films actors (and parents of acting sons Sean and Chris and musician Michael Penn) play the heads of these emotionally torn households. James Gandolfini, Melissa Fitzgerald, Robin Lange and Laura Jane Salvato play the family members struggling to cope with their rage and guilt. Veronica Brady, who last helmed the Los Angeles production of "Gunplay," directs. Producers are Sydney McDonnell and Barbara O'Neill Ferris, founders of Helicon Theatre Company.

"Remembrance," presented by Sean Penn and "Clyde is Hungry Films" in association with Helicon Theatre Company, will run from September 25 through November 2 (Thursdays-Sundays) at the Odyssey Theatre in West Los Angeles.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased through the Box Office at 310-477-2055. Discounted preview tickets ($10) are available for September 21, 23, and 24. This is an Odyssey Theatre Guest Production.

Sinead has written a song about Diana, Princess of Wales. The Irish singer sang the song september 8th in tribute to Diana during a concert in Dublin. The show was the first of six concerts concerts taking place in the Point Theatre in Dublin under the Gael Force Banner. During the concert she said she "started the song in the past few days and completed it yesterday morning." In the song she refers to Diana as 'The mother of us all.'

The show was recorded: supposedly to be shown on T.V. in the U.S.

If there is someone who has more info or even has a recording PLEASE LET ME KNOW !!!!

"New" Album; So Far...The Best Of Sinéad O'Connor

(handed by; Mirko & Ross)

EMI-Records has planned to release a new Sinead Album. This album will be a "Best Of" Album and will be released by Sinead's old Record Company EMI as part of the deal for leaving to another company (Sony/Columbia).

Rumoured tracklist of this album is;

Nothing Compares 2 U
Mandinka
Thank You For Hearing Me
Success Has Made A Failure Of Our Home
The Emperor's New Clothes
Famine
You Made Me The Thief Of Your Heart
On Raglan Road
Fire On Babylon
I Am Stretched On Your Grave
The Last Day Of Our Acquaintance
A Perfect Indian
John I Love You
Empire
Jackie

Weird enough Troy is missing, and also songs from The Gospel Oak EP are missing, but of this EP I think EMI has sold the rights to Sony/Columbia. Great additions are On Raglan Road and Empire because these songs where never before released on a Sinead album or cd-single (though on albums of other artists)

UK-Release date for this album has been set on November 10th.

According to the Canadian record store "Sam" the album will be release in Canada on October 21th

Pre-concert Music

This might be interesting for the people who visited Sinead's concert or whom ever is interested in to which music Sinead is listening at the moment;

Before most of the concerts Sinead did last months you could hear some reggae music, this music comes from a compilation box set of four CDs called The History of Reggae or something similar.

Radio recordings by Sinead including new song

(handed by; Dondi and Somebody)

I heard on the radio today that Sinead will be recording a PBS special today on 54th St. somewhere in NYC. I am just 4 blocks away. Z100 was the radio station. They were giving tickets away on the radio.

One of the songs she performed there was; "There is a Doggy Shit on my Footsole" which may or may not have been recorded. I don't know where the song comes from, but it is a cover of an existing The lyrics to this deep song are :

There is a doggy shit on my foot sole
and it smells like a doggy's ass
and that is not the smell of Elizabeth Arden.

It is sitting on my footsole,
and it smells like a doggy's ass,
and that is not the smell of Elizabeth Arden.

Sinéad Interview on German Radio

(handed by; Daniel Heinze)

Good news for all fans in middle Europe:

The German radio station "Deutschlandfunk" airs a 45-minute-interview with Sinead on Monday, September, 8th.

I do not know exactly if it is a new interview, but the programme list of the station says it would be an interview about her 10-year-carrer...

Here's some information how to listen to this interview:

IN GERMANY, "Deutschlandfunk" is available in nearly every city by a usual radio tuner.

THE REST OF EUROPE can listen to it via satellite, the station can be received analouge on the ASTRA satellite system (I do not know exactly which frequency...)

TIME OF TRANSMISSION: 22.05 MESZ (10 p.m. Central European time)

IMO, the interview will be translated into German - but maybe the original responses are available, too.
