Butcher Boy ONLINE
You may want to check out www.butcherboy.com! I have been monitoring/stalking this site for a couple of months but so far all they have is one picture of some boys in a field, down on their knees, looking up and you just know it has to be Sinead! Also, The trailer is listed as coming soon. But it is still worth checking out! It's listed in a couple articles about new films coming out in '98. the article in the SF Chronicle (early in january) said it was due late in FEBRUARY (this month!!!). altho sometimes the release date of movies gets pushed back for various reasons, everyone who was worried about the movie NOT being released in the US can be sure it will play in major cities, if not more widely.

New (unreleased) song; Roisin Dubh
In a 6 hour long PBS TV-special "Irish in America" Sinead has the very
first song on the tape, it's background music with v/o
(voice over) but it's clear as day her and they turn it up when no one is speaking! I
looked at the credits and it said "Roisin Dubh by Sinead O'Connor" Roisin
Dubh means Black Rose. ROISIN DUBH is irish gaelic for BLACK ROSE , a code name given to
Ireland itself by freedom fighters in the last century.
BTW; Regarding the title, the program was called "Long Journey Home: The Irish in America".It's three parts making a total of 6 hours. The first is titled "The Famine" the second part is titled "Across America". Unfortunately, Sinead only has one song on it and it is "Skibbereen". It`s an amazing song. It's about a man who loses everything to the famine, including his wife, but takes his 2-year-old son to America, to a new life. The song is sung from the man's point of view and he's telling his son why he left "Erin's Isle". Anyways, unfortunately, "Roisin Dubh" isn't on the soundtrack. There is, however, a lot of other beautiful Irish music (but of course, Sinead's is the best).

Sinead in People Magazine
In the February 2, 1998, People magazine (entitled Diana's Legacy of Love), in the Picks
& Pans Song section, there is a review of the Long Journey Home CD which states
"but it is O'Connor's spare and lovely dirge "Skibbereen" that steals the
show." Also, there is a picture of Sinead singing.

John O'Connor
On Saturday, there was a Sinead O'Connor message in the VIVA (a German
"Music" TV station, playing Euro-Dance all
the time)-Teletext: The brother of the famous Irish singer S.O'C., John O'Connor, is
scared about how famous Sinead is. He released his new book called "The
Salesman", and now, everybody is asking about connections between the book and Sinead
a.s.o. In Ireland, John O'Connor said, the people like talking about private things, now
everybody searches for some
Sinead-related things in the book.
BOOK WRITTEN BY JOHN;
'Desperadoes'
'Cowboys and Indians'
'Secret World of the Irish Male'
'Irish Male Abroad'
True Believers
Even the Olives are Bleeding
The Irish Male at Home
Abroad Red Roses and Petrol
A Stone of the Heart
The Long Way Home
Ailsa
Sweet Liberty: Travels in Irish America
A Class of Our Own
Basically Joseph O' Connor seems like an ordinary bloke - if you're looking for references
and insights to his sister's
life and career you'll not find much, although in the 'Irish Male at Home and Abroad' he
does go into some, very moving detail as to his (and his sisters (plural)) childhood and
the circumstance under which they grew up. I gather he's some sort of freelance reporter
and writes for the Irish Times and I'd recommend all the above books. The two Irish Male
books are factual and deal with his life and experiences and are both bloody funny and
deeply moving at times The other two are fictional - 'Desperadoes' dealing with a woman's
search for her missing son in Central America 'Cowboys & Indians' - concerns a young
punk (mohican, body piercings etc.) Eddie Virago growing and living in London and is one
of the best books

Alice Donut's song about Sinead
Alice Donut sang a song about the Nothing Compares 2 U video. Alice Donut is a punk band
from New York and this song is from their album entitled, "Bucketfulls Of Sickness
And Horror In An Otherwise Meaningless Life"
The Lyrics:
Sinead O'Connor On T.V.
I think you're pretty and you even look like you've thought things out
But you're so disappointing
With your shaved head and those mystery eyes
You smile embarrassed like you know what's going on
But you just stand still like you can just go along
With the cheap illustrations of your most important dreams
What do you think you're doing
Wasting your tears for the camera's eye
I don't doubt that at one time you meant it
But your posing and your pouting's not going to make me cry
For some ad executive's idea
Of what your sex would give
To be on television
C'mon have a sense of humor
I wanna believe but you just make sneer
'Cause it's the same emotion that they use to sell me beer
You don't have to go along with their world
You don't have to go along
You can put your shirt back on

What that on the end of the Gospel Oak EP ?
A cd called traditional songs of ireland was one of sinead's top ten fave albums as listed
in the q magazine sometime last year. A surprise is to find the mystery to that mysterious
track of the old man going, "la... la" at the end of gospel oak.
it's listed in this cd as "the blackbird" by this old man called francis mckeon,
also, there're two different versions of the factory girl by two different women in this
cd as well.
