"New" Old songs found

James Robert McGuire found a song with Sinead no-one noticed before, though it's very clear to hear her. The song is entitled "World Party" and can be found on the album "Private Revolution" by the band called "World Party" this cd also includes Hawaiian Island World of which we already knew Sinead sings in it. On the song World Party, Sinead sings very clear the backing vocals. Lyrics are available on this homepage.

He also pointed me on the song Hold On of the band Max (on the album Silence Running which also contains Morning Time with Sinead) hell why did I never notice her voice before ??? In Hold On you can hear Sinead very very very clear.   After having listened to the entire album by Max, I'm sure Sinead is all over this album in the background. She can be best heard in Morning Time and Hold On.

RealAudio; KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic

One of the most interesting interviews of 1997 is now on-line through RealAudio made possible by LiveConcerts. The interview lasts over 50 minutes and includes a lot of chat about/with Sinead concerning The Gospel Oak EP and more. Included in this programm are songs of the Gospel Oak. But the most interesting reason to listen to this show is that it is the only place where you can hear the "I AM NOT YOUR BABY - demo" besides on my page (in the RealAudio Section) but thats just a copy of this show. After this show the song was never aired again.

Sinead - Best Solo Female on Irish Rock Awards

Today, April 9th, in Belfast Sinead won the Irish Rock Music Award / HotPress Aard for being "Best Female Irish Solo Artist"   and.....more she was singing a new song titled "Emma's Song" It's a mellow song, very much in line with Gospel Oakist category. She performed "Emma's Song" - which she wrote for the new "Avengers" movie., and there was a small interview with her, she said about this new song, smth like it's a soundtrack to the coming movie (june 29th) movie "Avengers" , and there were the questions about peace talks on Northern Ireland.  This all has been recorded for television airing on UK-BBC2 on April 19th.

This news has been added on April 20th after someone mentioned me that (s)he saw the program.

New Song; All Kinds Of Everything

Sinéad has recorded a new song together with Terry Hall. It's called 'All Kinds of Everything', a cover of a song by irish singer dana for the eurovision contest. The song can be found in the cd called A Song for Eurotrash to be released very soon, late april or early may (label: EMI).the artistes are bananarama, dubstar, st etienne, sachal distel, brigitte bardot, edwyn collins, among others. This album is the "soundtrack" to a TV program which seems to be a parody to the European-Songfestival, according to an EMI fax this program ("Eurotrash" ?) will be aired on May 2nd.

sinead's voice is very gentle, very sweet, and it complements terry hall's no-frills, prosaic voice. very unexpected duet, really.

here's what sinead said according to the official bio:

SINEAD O'CONNOR: "Before me, Dana was the last successful Irish female artist internationally, so her song seemed the obvious choice when it came to choosing a Eurovision cover version. When Dana won Eurovision, it was a reall big event in Ireland. Terry and I had worked together before - I did some backing vocals with him back in the days when he was in the Colourfield. It was good to have the excuse to sing with him again."

Gospel Oak WITH CD-Text

According to a Sony page, they've released a version of The Gospel Oak which includes CD-Text. This is an enhancement of the standard cd. If you play such a cd on a standard cd-player you won't notice the difference, but played on a player which is made to read cd-text you can see track-titles in the display. According to that Sony page such a cd can also be read by a modern Computer CD-Rom player without any extra software. Thusfar I haven't found the disc including this CD-text (which is an limited Sony/Columbia release) so I can't tell you what is exactly on it, but an enhanced cd can include lyrics, clips, info etc.... although only the tracktitles can be viewed with a CD-Text enhanced cd-player.

Please mail me if you've got such a disc !!!!
