Sinead Live July 17th 1997 Dublin, The Point Theatre.

It was a very good gig. Everyone was on top form that night as there was some nervousness in the air with it being the home crowd for Sinead and the Screaming Orphans as well. Sinead's family were there, including her father.

The Point Theatre is , apparently, the oldest theatre in Dublin and had a very intimate atmosphere, with a strong rake from the stage back to the balconies and a slight tilt to the stage to bring everything forward even more. The result is to bring everyone in the audience close in to the stage. The set was the same as usual but everything was extremely tight and Sinead sang brilliantly making full use of the intimacy of the setting on the quieter moments.

I understand the show was recorded by some radio station in Ireland, so presumably it will be broadcast there at some point in the near future. I believe also that they are trying to purchase the multitracks from the radio station. I know that there is a plan to record a couple of the shows in the U.S. with a view to releasing a live album.
