The show was sold out, nevertheless a lot of people were still looking for tickets in front of the area (there were some tickets, but some "dealers" sold them for 50 DM instead of the original price of 20-25 DM...) It was an open-air-gig with an audience of about 3.500 people - the area, a small place in front of Jena's theatre, was totally overcrowded.I stood close to the stage and was absolutely surprised - the sound was very clear and the vocals (Sinead's as well as the vocals of Screaming Orphans) were mixed in a very good way - I did not recognize big technical problems. Okay, sometimes a microphone produced a little feedback, but - you have to live with it, it's a LIVE concert!

At first, the Screaming Orphans entered the stage and performed about half an hour. To be honest, their song material is not very sensational (IMO), but as a support act, the girls did their job very good - they made the audience cheering and even dancing.

At 9 p.m., Sinead and the band appeared on the stage - Sinead wore a blue addidas-sport-dress (?!). The crowd was surprised - most of them did not expect a "rocking" Sinead: the band and Sinead fit perfectly together, "TENC", "YMMTTOYH" and "IASOYG" made the people dance (what is not "normal" in Germany - most of us usually hold a bottle of beer while listening to the music like "Rolling Stone" critics: not moving, friendly applauding and buying another beer during a ballad or a slow song, this is the f***ing truth!).

"Indian" worked very good to calm down the crowd, "Rebel Song" was one of the show's highlights (arranged very close to the GO version). An extended version of "John I love you" followed (fabulous!!!!!!), then "this is to mother you" made some girls in front of the stage cry! From now on, Sinead was the "hero of the day" for the 3.500! Every song was followed by enthousiastic cheering, and "In this heart" marked MY personal highlight of the show - I never expected Justin Adams to have such a great bass voice... "FOB" and "LDOUA" were fantastic performances, too.

The encores, especially Redemption Song were very good, too - I heard Sinead's version of the song for the fist time. Then, Sinead sang "She moved through the fair", which was the last song. After finishing the song, the audience was SILENT for some seconds, and after that, the most enthousiastic cheering I heard for a long time started: Sinead was breathtaking, the sound was good and no one cared about the rain during "in this heart" and "FOB" - what a concert!!!!!!!!!!!!
